People aren’t always what you want them to be. Sometimes they disappoint you or let you down, but you have to give them a chance first. You can’t just meet someone and expect them to be everything you’re looking for and then be angry when they’re not every hope and aspiration you projected onto them. It’s foolish to believe that someone will be what you imagine them to be. And sometimes, when you give them a chance, they turn out to be better than you imagined. Different, but better. Chloe Rattray (Sacré Noir) Saturday Jan 1 @ 09:42pm
I hate it when people say they’re trying to be your friend. You shouldn’t have to try to be somebody’s friend. Either you like someone or you don’t. Either you want them as a friend or not. Making friends isn’t like trying for the lead in the school play. Emily Wing Smith (Back When You Were Easier to Love) Friday Jan 1 @ 09:09pm
She wasn’t bitter. She was sad, though. But it was a hopeful kind of sad. The kind of sad that just takes time. The Perks of Being a Wallflower (via mi-deum) Tuesday Jan 1 @ 08:45pm
There’s something completely unnerving about seeing your parents upset. I suppose it’s because they’re supposed to be the strong ones, but that’s not just it. Ever since people are kids they use their parents as some sort of measurement for how bad a situation is. When you fall on the ground really hard and you can’t figure out whether it hurts or not you look to your parents. If they look worried and rush toward you, you cry. If they laugh and smack the ground saying “Bold ground,” then you pick yourself up and get on with it. Cecelia Ahern, Love, Rosie (via noeeeee) Sunday Jan 1 @ 09:25pm
If he didn’t care about you, you couldn’t upset him. Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book (via noeeeee) Tuesday Dec 12 @ 07:50pm

As time goes on, you’ll understand. What lasts, lasts; what doesn’t, doesn’t. Time solves most things. And what time can’t solve, you have to solve yourself. Haruki Murakami, Dance, Dance, Dance (via marceedaza) Monday Oct 10 @ 07:39pm
‎”If you’re trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down at you anyhow. And if you’re trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone. Morrie Schwartz (Tuesdays With Morrie) Wednesday Oct 10 @ 10:03pm
I guess that’s what saying good-bye is always like—like jumping off an edge. The worst part is making the choice to do it. Once you’re in the air, there’s nothing you can do but let go. Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall (via avgoustos) Wednesday Oct 10 @ 09:43pm
If it happened once, it will never happen again. If it happened twice, it will surely happen for the third time. Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist) Tuesday Sep 9 @ 09:56pm
